Love and Hate Both have 4 Letters

This is a story I'm writing. I will be posting a lot about it until I am done but here is the first chapter:

1. What Kind of Name is Jaiyi?

        Hi, my name is Jaiyi Chang.Yes, I know worst name ever, right? But there's nothing I can do about it. My friends usually call me Jai, though. I live in little ol' Rhode Island. You'd think nothing much really happens here. But a lot goes on in my life, but why do you care about me anyways?
        My phone suddenly beeps and startles me. I type in my pass code and see I have a text from my best friend Lilly Davis.
        Lilly: Jai, Don't be mad!!!
        I instantly reply.
        Me: Why would I be mad?
        Lilly: Cuz Brendan asked meh out(: !!!!!!!!!!
        I roll my eyes. She's had a crush on him since forever.
        Me: Why do I care about you and your emo boyfriend?
        Lilly: I AM NOT EMO!!! I just like the style!
        Lilly always says that. She's one of those happy emos who never cut.
        Me: But your boyfriend is...
        Lilly: WHATEVR!
        Me: Honestly, sometimes I wonder why we're even best friends.
        She shoots me back the same response to that she always does.
        Lilly: Becuz ur awesome, fun, & terrific just like meh!
        There's the perfect example of what goes on in my life.
    
        I open my laptop and get on Facebook. I look at the screen and sure enough Lilly is online. And of course she posts about Brendan:
